Johan began its company in 1920 as Johan Tin Dredging Ltd which operating a mining lease off at the Johan River in the Kinta District of Perak with a start up capital of RM136,000. In 1979, the Company's mining site stopped due to the ending of product life cycle of economic tin mining grounds. After that, the firm change its name to JOHAN HOLDINGS BERHAD.
